What is Living Waters?

Living Waters is an in-depth, Christ-centered program for people seeking healing in areas of sexual and relational brokenness. A healing, teaching and discipleship series, Living Waters addresses the reality that we are all broken in our ability to love others well. The goal of Living Waters is to lay a foundation for sexual and relational wholeness in our lives. With groups all over the world, and with over twenty years of ministering God’s healing love, the Living Waters program is a proven path of healing.

Living Waters is particularly relevant to those struggling with homosexuality, sexual promiscuity, the effects of sexual abuse, codependency, self-hatred, or the inability to love others well. Thankfully, Christ's capacity to touch and restore us at deep levels of shame and brokenness extends to all of us, regardless of the specifics of our issue.

The following information is provided to communicate to leaders a greater understanding of some of the philosophical beliefs and technical details of the Living Waters program.

Our purpose in providing this information is to convey what we see as essential to the success of a Living Waters program, the steps we take to ensure safety for participants and leaders, and the standard we expect before authorizing leaders to implement a Living Waters group in their church or ministry context.

Introduction to The River

Are you frustrated in your relationships? Do you feel unable to connect with God and others? Underneath, do you feel insecure? Do past hurts, abuse or difficult family dynamics hold you back? Do you struggle with specific sexual issues like promiscuity, homosexuality or pornography?

This stuff keeps us from knowing the radical and intimate love of God. We need to experience His compassion and power that will change us.

The River is an intense 20-lesson healing/discipleship program for young adults seeking Jesus and His healing in their relationships, identity and sexuality. Groups generally meet weekly for 15-20 weeks. The River uses SOULutions: Relational Healing for the Next Generation, written by Cathy Morrill, as its guidebook.
